UDM hires McCallum to lead Titan Basketball

Former Indiana University basketball assistant Ray McCallum returned to the head coaching ranks Friday as the Skipper of the University of Detroit Mercy Titans. McCallum, 47, spent the past two years as an assistant at IU after two as an assistant at Oklahoma.

McCallum coached Ball State from 1993-2000, leading the Cardinals to two NCAA Tournaments. He was also the coach at Houston from 2000-04.

Ray McCallum takes over the program from Perry Watson who retired last season. The Titans finished dead last in the Horizon League last year with a 3-15 in conference record (7-23 overall).
