Lions Keep Thanksgiving Game in 2009

During a news conference friday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the Detroit Lions are not in danger of losing the Thanksgiving Day game for 2009. However, he also mentioned that owners will discuss having other teams host Thanksgiving Day games "as we get later into the year."

Detroit has hosted Thanksgiving Day games since 1934 and it has become a tradition. As bad as the Lions are, I think they should be able to keep the game. What I would like the NFL to take away from the Lions is owner William Clay Ford Sr.
