Temporary German Citzen

So apparently Chris Kaman will be a German citizen for the Summer Olympics...

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) -- Los Angeles Clippers center Chris Kaman has received German citizenship and will team up with Dirk Nowitzki for Germany at an Olympic qualifying tournament later this month.

Kaman, whose great-grandparents were German, averaged 15.7 points and 12.7 rebounds last season with the Clippers.

Has Kaman even ever been to Germany??? How do you become a citizen of another country for a specified window of time? I'm telling you in the next several years you will being seeing players being bought to play for other countries that they have never even been to.

Have some national pride for pete's sakes... for the country you reside in!!!

If I'm not mistaken, he did grow up in Wyoming, Michigan. That could have caused some of his confusion.

Also, after having a couple classes with him at CMU, he probably doesn't really know what country he currently resides in. Someone probably told him that he looks German and he's a pussy if he doesn't make the German Olympic team.
