Walter Sharpe.......Trent Plaisted.......Deron Washington.....sounds exciting doesn't it?

I don't mind Joe Dumars trading out of the first round and getting 2 picks in the second round considering the players won't be gauranteed any contracts. What I do mind is....why would you use the picks on no name, average talent type players?

When Detroit drafted Walter Sharpe in the second round, players such as Chris Douglass Roberts, Mario Chalmers and DeAndre Jordan were still on the board. Instead Joe drafted a player with a rap sheet to match Dennis Rodman. He was kicked off the Mississippi State team for being continuously late to meetings and missing team flights out of town. He transferred to UAB where he played for half a year until he was suspended for being ineligible. He has also been arrested on more than one occasion and has been shot. GREAT CHOICE JOE!!!!

They followed this up by drafting Trent Plaisted, when players such as Bill Walker, Devon Hardin and Darnell Jackson were still available. Is it just me or were the Pistons just pulling names out of a hat because they know they don't want them anyway.

I'll wait and see how this pans out but for now I hate this draft. If it were my choice CDR, or Mario Chalmers would be a Piston right now.

It seems Joe can't see the forest through the trees on draft day. He had some perfectly good well known prospects land in his lap and he chose to instead go after obscure players that were on no one's radar.

Any KU player left on the board would have been great in my eyes (KU fan disclaimer). But CDR or DeAndre Jordan would have been my picks, Jordan more so since we DON'T HAVE A CENTER!?!?!?!?
